Family Supports

Through the Pre-Kindergarten Program, children and families will have their health, nutrition, learning and development, social service, and family involvement needs met, to ensure they are ready for school. To meet these needs, Pre-Kindergarten Program will provide the following services:

  • coordinate a full range of flexible, family-focused services to families with young children
  • develop children's appropriate social, cognitive, and physical skills, and emotional well-being;
  • address children's medical, dental, mental health, and nutritional needs;
  • meet children's daily nutritional needs;
  • coordinate parents' involvement in meeting children's educational, health, social service, and other needs;
  • ensure that the literacy needs of parents are addressed through referral to and cooperation with adult basic education programs and other adult literacy programs.

Pre-Kindergarten Program builds upon and strengthens existing resources and services in the community, to meet the needs of four and five year-old children and their families.
